El Salvador 3, Greece 2

El Salvador was the better team all night and used its superior skill to get the majority of scoring chances. ES opened the scoring with a nice goal about 10 minutes in. Greece tied it up about 2 minutes later with a perfect strike from way out that went bottom corner. El Salvador scored a couple more to take a 3-1 lead and it didn't look like Greece had it in them to come back. Greece managed to score a header goal with about 7 minutes left, but then couldn't generate any more chances. Congrats to the Greek coach for being the first official tossed from the tournament.

Ha. Was that jimmy? What did he do?

Ha ha yeah it was Jimmy. He went out to see how his keeper was doing because he had taken a hit. Said something to that awful female ref. Christine and got tossed. Christine reffing is terrible and the people arn't stupid, she picks sides. Not cool when a ref. tries to determine the outcome.

Go Greece blaming the referees again. Christine did a good job. It's not her fault that the Greek defenders and midfield were giveaway machines in the final 10 minutes.

Referees don't pick sides and they don't play favourites because it makes no difference to them one way or another who wins and who loses.

Yeah you playmaker don't want to say anything bad about that ref Christine. Maybe she will look after Norway in games to help that lame team of yours go thru to the next round. Pathetic or what

How cam Braden u not a ref this time? Did u get cut

The ref did a good job, that jimmy guy was not called into the field in the first case, If you don't know the lady Ref is one of the best to ever appear in this tournament.

he went onto the field cause his player was hurt.. Like any good coach would do. He obviously wasn't impressed his goalie got hit. There are no good refs in regina.. Period.

Their player absolutely absolutely rocked our player into their own keeper. Carson had an easy tap in and got taken out hard right into the keeper, so not sure why they got the call. The funny thing was she warned that guy for talking trash so he turned to leave and one of the defenders swore at her, she thought it was him and he got tossed. Unfortunately for me it took about 5 mins for this whole event and my knees almost seized up.

The game was ugly and sloppy, now I know how Norway feels scraping out wins against mediocre opponents. It was a dufusesque performance to say the least. We played like a team that's never played together, which is kind of what we are. Second half was much better than the first. Hopefully some good team bonding vs sk on Sunday so we're ready for the 2 games next weekend.

That tall gangly guy on Greece almost scored the crackers goal I've seen to tie it late in the match, the crowd went nuts. Haha their centre back was a nice player.

Dufus, I'll be down Saturday to check out your big match, good luck! Do me proud buddy!

So, the ref got it wrong last night with the coach being sent off in the end either way. I believe every ref has their good and bad nights with these intense WCP games. It's not a job a lot of people would like to do for sure. I would rather drink beer and watch upstairs than handle all those complaining players on the floor.

if you are not called into the field you are breaking the game rules, very simple and clear you have to be warned or sent out which is absolutely justified for what the Ref did, im against all bad refs but i don't like it when a good ref get blamed for nothing. Greece play a dirty game same as Sudan.

Come on!!! Since you are such a rule person, why didn't the ref toss the coach right away when he entered the field to check the golie? I think Riggs told it right and she was clearly in the wrong last night. Imagine if the Greek defender was tossed instead of the coach??? El Salvador would have ran up the score with those guys playing one less.

To be fair he chirped her before he went to the keeper, got warned, chirped her again, got warned again. She then turned her head and as he walked right behind their defender, that guy swore at her, and i think 95% of refs in the same situation would have done the same thing. If he hadn't chirped get twice prior he never would have got tossed.

The question is why was he chirping? When clearly it was a foul in them and probably could have been a pk to be honest.

Everyone does realize it wasn't even a player. Didn't affect the game in any way. Who cares?
