2012 Day 10 Preview - Sun April 8

Five games for today and I can't say I'm excited for any of the. Might be taking a break from the soccer centre to let my liver heal

Botswana vs Somalia, 4 p.m. - This might be a decent game for seeing goals scored but not if you're interested in watching good team shape. Both teams love to push forward to the extent that they don't like leaving anyone back. Botswana wins 6-5.

Germany vs Vietnam, 6 p.m. - Germany is going to score tons of goals and is not going to let up until it has 15. Germany is angry about the Poland game and needs to prove it can hang with the big boys.

El Salvador vs South Korea, 7 p.m. - Well... Italy barely beat South Korea and Italy also barely beat El  Salvador. So this one should be close. That said, I think El Salvador is a bit better than what they've shown so far. El Salvador wins 5-1.

Afghanistan vs Northern Ireland, 8 p.m. - Afghanistan was impressive on Saturday night and Northern Ireland was impressive against Jamaica in that tie. If Northern Ireland can play a solid defensive game then I think they'll keep this one close. However, I don't think NI has the skill to match with Afghanistan. Afghanistan wins 5-2.

Colombia vs Canada, 9 p.m. - Let's see if Canada can play with some urgency and can manage to score a goal after its goose egg against Jamaica. Skill-wise and structure-wise Canada has all of the advantages so it will depend on if the players decide to give their game some purpose. Canada wins 4-2.

I hope that N. Ireland Keeper takes his fingers out of his bum tonight!

Maybe N.Ireland keeper likes his fingers in his bum, then he could shove them down your mouth

As much as NI was "impressive" against Jamaica (and from all accounts I heard it was more about how back JAM played than how good NI was), they were also embarrassing against Canada and Jamaica beat Canada. Afghan's speed will throttle NI's lack of fitness and the Afghan's won't be push overs in the physical side of the game either. Afghan's goal scoring vs. NI's lack of a decent keeper = a LONG night for NI. I see this one getting just as bad as NI's game against Canada.

I am not sure what your issue is "anon" with our keeper....not sure what he did to you...he missed our first game and thought he played pretty good against Jamaica. Good luck tonight guys.....

i think keepers should keep their fingers out of their bum. especially N. Ireland keepers.

Sounds like you have a fetish with guys and fingers and bums

I have no problems with your keepers...they are just a weak spot on your team. Neither your starter or your back up are outstanding and as aggressive as the Afghan's are you will need a strong keeper.

I don't know if I'd call it an upset but Somalia dominated Botswana. 4-2 Somalia win! Those 2 teams can get added to Vietnam and South Korea in a death match for the worst team in history of the tourney!

NI got KILLED! Did they even get a shot on goal in the first half? Allan Hogg needs to get a haircut and get a real job because his defending was atrocious on his last shift!

what were the scores tonight?

NI got crushed tonight...I think I counted 3 shots on net for them. Was a brutal game...the shots were alot to 3. I am surprised it was only 6-0.

And 3 own goals as well....I will blame keeper for one of those...off the crossbar and off him and in...didn't matter if he let 1 in or 6..team played like absolute crap when you only register 3 shots or whatever it was.

Scores tonight - Somalia 4-2 Botswana (Somalia controlled a lot of the game...Botswana was a mess), Germany 10-0 Vietnam (Vietnam's keeper actually did well...probably saved 15 shots in the first half alone), El Salvador 7-2(ish) South Korea, Afghanistan 6-0 N. Ireland (NI was a disaster out there...as mentioned I'd be surprised if they hit the net more than 5 times all game and when they did it was long clearing attempts from their own half and nothing that was a risk of going in), 3-2 or 4-2 for Canada over Colombia (Canada dominated, just couldn't find the net a lot)

Yeah apparently some of the NI guys were talking about quitting after the game. Hopefully they meant quitting soccer all together because they were lost out there!

NI sucks. Those guys suck. Dirt bags. I hope they all quit for good.
