2012 WCP Cup - Norway Schedule

The Norway Schedule for 2012 WCP Cup is:

Sat Mar 31 - 9 p.m. vs Greece
Sat Apr 7 - 10 p.m. vs France
Mon Apr 9 - 7:30 p.m. vs Italy
Sun Apr 15 - 9 p.m. vs El Sal
Mon Apr 16 - 8:30 p.m. vs S. Korea

Quick thoughts:
  • Benefit of being in the toughest group is the number of prime time games. We've got three.
  • Probably the most favourable schedule in the group. Get our tough games with lots of rest time before, and get our easy games right after
  • We play France when they have only two days rest and El Salvador the day after they play France.
  • First game against Greece will let us know where we stand. Can't have a let-down and allow them to sneak out some points like they did against France in 2011.
  • I'm optimistic. This is a very winnable situation and should result in another playoff berth.

Appearently France may be losing a lot of players (Kash, Mason, Gordie, Yani) as they have moved out of province. Be interesting if they replace them with new strong players or struggle through the year.

They were never good those players

Norway is a pretty good team. I don't know why so many of you people come on here and trash them. If any of you have any knowledge of soccer, you should know upsets are always possible whether you are first or last. Second of all, France is not all that. Kash is not a good player, the rest of the guys mentioned above are decent. France will put up a good showing, but how good is still to be seen. If my memory serves me correct they almost lost to Greece last year and that was because of a little slip up on Greece part. Norway could pull second off quite easily. Also just to point out, I am in no way a Norway fan but come on people, don't hate if you don't know your stuff.

I agree with the above comment as well. Top teams have been upset by lower teams quite ofter. Look a few years back, N.Ireland upset Ireland...it has been done, and top teams will face upsets again this year...just depends on the type of game that team is having that day.

I also agree with the two above comments. Look at Botswana a few years back. Everyone trash talked the them and they came out and beat Chile 3-0. It's hard to say who will finish in what position. Predictions are good yes, but maybe it be best to wait and actually see how the teams fair in there friendly games. None of the teams have set rosters yet.

The group of death this year is CLEARLY GROUP C. I don't know what Bradyen was smoking thinking his team is always in the hardest group.

totally agree with te last comment. D certainly isn't the pool of death. At best it's the pool of bi-polars. One year Greece sucks, the next they are great. One year Norway is great, the next they suck. One year ES is a top competitor, the next year they aren't even on the radar. C if definitely the most competitive group. German, Poland are always tough teams. Nigeria and Portugal can have solid games and apparently Vietnam is a fast skilled team this year as well.

This year every group is tough because every group has at least 2 solid teams. But the toughest group is group B.

Hard to say which group is the group of death. It's definately not group d though. I bet Norway will lost to Italy this year. That i'll put my money on because of the changes the Italians have made.

Is Norway really that good, cause every year I come on this blog this dude talks it up like they are the best team in the tournament?

Group D is the group of death. Norway France and El Salvador are all proven teams, and with france losing a few key players, it only evens out the playing field. The tournament is never as predictable as it appears on here before hand, so expect something crazy to happen like norway moving on in first place.
Group C is not the group of death, Germany and Poland have both improved. Portugal and Nigeria just don't have the consistency or the goaltending to be serious contenders in the group. Poland has to be careful not to be over confident because of their success' last year.

Yo Voice of Reason ... what are you smoking? Your probably some Norway player. Listen dude, France is not all that and neither is Norway. I garantee Germany and Portugal could beat either of those teams.

I put my money on Italy to beat Norway. The quality players they have added this year is something to be aware of. Trust me on this one. Wait till you see Italy out there. I would be worried. Laugh if you want, but just wait come time to play them.

I will take that bet.

Friendly Update:

Nigeria 3-2 Scotland

Poland 2-2 Afghanistan

If Norway is exactly the same as last year with those "quality players" you people speak of, then I would have to say "better luck next year".

Looking at the wcp cup champions list. Rep. Ireland been in the final every year. Like come on. Can we have some change for once. I can't stand that team.

i am pretty sure you would take any of those players on your team.
