Group D is stupid, how is that possible

Anonymous said...

exactly...We're going to see a team like teams like ROI/Norway, El Salvador/Laos, France/Nigeria walk out of their pool with ease yet some solid teams like Poland, Germany, Jamaica, Canada (all potential top 10 teams) have to fight tooth and nail just place 3rd in their pool let alone moving on.

no team is guaranteed any easy walkout of their pools its gona come down to how hard they want to move on in order to advance, group c is anyones group any of them can come out, group d is gona be interesting i dont know if canada makes it out, ROI once again got luck as always they get a walk out of their pool, only group A is were 2 teams are guaranteed to move on for sure unless something happens, but anyways good luck to all teams

That's why it's called a draw right? Cause it's a random chance to have a pool in which every game will be a playoff game. Having this kind of pool is hard on the teams in it but they're also some of the best games to watch. As for the comment on how other teams will "walk" through their group, trust me when I say that some of these teams have been in a similar group in the past.

Group c is a joke

I think Group D is great. Time for each team to put up or shut up. No off games allowed and no excuses for any of the teams. If they want to be contenders they better take it seriously starting right now. No pretenders this year.

it may turn out to be a battle of between canada germany and jamaica. Ukraine hasnt done well the past couple years, and poland just doesnt have the depth to compete in this pool. Jamaica was decent last year, but should be better this year, their downfall is definitely coaching. Canada will be strong, but who is their keeper? Germany will be good too. toss up for who comes out of this group. all depends on who shows up to play.

I will have to go with Jamaica taking group D. They have one of the best players in the tournament with Andrew Banerjee. I'd say he is probably top 3 most skilled players in the tournament. He definitely has the hardest shot too. With the combo of holness and banerjee, Jamaica will win wcp 2011

While I agree that Banerjee is amongst the top players in the tourney...didn't he play with Jamaica last year as well? While I'm sure Jamaica will be one of the ones competing to get out of the pool, they will need a lot more than a Holness/Bannerjee combo take the whole tourney. And what about Poland? Heard they lost a few solid players? Hopefully Ukraine and Scotland put a decent enough team on the field to be spoilers in this pool.

Pretty sure Scotland is going to get crushed every game. Like 10-0. They're even worse this year than last year. Ukraine will be OK, but not an actual threat. Jamaica is getting some solid pickups, but they'll still be weak at the back. Holness hasn't decided yet if he'll even play. Poland will be good, but it'll be difficult for them to get out of the pool. Germany and Canada are both going to be solid. I think they're the favourites for Group D right now

Andrew banerjee as one of the top players? I hope thats a joke. Jamaica is too. They are never good.
That group sucks for Poland most of all.

I've heard Scotland has had A LOT of turnover this year and added more decent new players (lots of younger players to build on). To say they are worse than last year I think is a bit of a farce I would think. They certainly won't make it out of this pool, but I doubt they would lose every game 10-0...not even close.

Pretty sure Scotland will get destroyed. There's a reason that nobody else is stocking up on youth players - its because they're small and scared and not very good. Lots of youth players = losing 10-0.

Anonymous said...

agreed. they really are in a lose-lose situation every game they will play in this years tournament. their confidence isn't going to be that high to begin with, I can't imagine how low it will drop after they lose each game 10-0.

i am so sick of someone always posting how good andrew banerjee is. HE ISNT GREAT. Decent player, but for someone to keep coming on here and saying how good he is only hurts him. rahul, if it's you, STOP. For Andrew's sake.

Anonymous said...

and now i realize that comment had to be a joke...

I agree; it seems like it's the same person pumping Andrew's tires all the time... for all we know it may be himself or one of his buddies trying to build his hype up. Let's be real, if you need to hype yourself up like that to let the tournament know who you are; then you ain't that good. One of the most talented? Sadly that isn't the case as if you want start naming players on talent alone he wouldn't fit in the top 10. A kid like Tavis has more natural talent then Banerjee hands down; yet on the pitch the player who is going to blow up this year and make some real noise is Brett Levis.
You heard it here first, the kid is for real. Playing with some talented players and the skill set the kid has, he may be walking away the leading goal scorer of the tournament; while some one like Banerjee will still be at home typing away how "sick" he really isn't.

the banerjee comments are jokes...and the saskatoon kid? make him go right. then you'll see how good he is.

some one just doesnt like andrew and just put up comments so ppl start hating on him, wats new its regina soccer you play with ppl who talk on you back game after game while u on the same team, thats why its not fun any more playing soccer coz ppl u think are yo friends are just snakes in the grass which is a shame

you have to realize how un-interesting this blog would be without people coming on here and creating debates and discussions about certain players. back it up by being a good soccer player

Anonymous said...

I am pretty sure that there are certain players that could come on here and back up comments by being actual good soccer players; but when your a one man hype machine that hasn't played anywhere or done much of anything; let's be serious.... Even players that have demonstrated ability to play still get trashed on the site due to the ability to remain anonymous yet at the end of the day many of the people lashing out the beaks are horrendous to say the least; yet in their mind they think they are complete beauties.
Sadly this is the Regina WCP, it's mere enjoyment and fun that people should simmer down on the hate towards some players and get off other players dicks already and just enjoy the event for what it is.
The reality is the 99% of the players playing in this tournament will never ever play in a crowd bigger then what is present at this tournament. So enjoy the moment, and unless you can back up what you say with talent and skills then don't go bashing individuals. If you think you have skillz that killz; go right ahead and post with your name and put yourself under the microscope... but the reality is there is only a handful of players in Regina that can even be considered to be above average players.

Braden atleast has the balls to make his outlandish comments under his name. Most of the time he is out to left field and living a fantasy; but atleast his has the nerve to post with his name. So if your going to bash this Banerjee kid, atleast post your name so if the kid gets a chance to play against you he can atleast have an opportunity to show you what his worth is. If not I would much like to hear the Regina's Top 10 Sluts list that was discontinued from the other site!

Ps. For the wise ass that commented about shutting down Brett Levis by making him go right; you make it sound so easy pal... hopefully the kid gets a chance to dangle you as you try to force him right... as the kid has legit skills and at his age has alot of upside to his game... but I am pretty sure he can prove himself for his worth on the pitch.

Didn't Nigeria make it to the Men's Premiere Cash tournament final against Regina Allstars?
Lets see Regina Allstars were made up of Murphy, Boun, Rolfe, Bachelu, Ogilvie, Zerr, Cooper, Hughevaert etc.
Nigeria picked up Collins and Banerjee. Nigeria won 8-o in one of their games and Mike and Andrew scored all 8 goals.
Nigeria was up 2-1 with minutes left until Nigeria defenders made 2huge errors to lose the game 3-2.
So I ask you this. Nigeria is either favoured to win WCP or Mike and Andrew carried the team against Regina's "finest" players and whatever teams they play on will definitely benefit from their presence.

Playmaker said...

All right, I'll be the first one to say that the Regina tournament is not a good example to use. Yes, Mike and Andrew played well, but overall it was teams just having a good time. Regular league play is usually better than what that tournament provided. It was OK, but not at all representative of anything we'll see in the WCP Cup.

To the person that made the comment at 11:37, Team Nigeria didnt play an Allstar Regina team, it was Oneill Alumini players. Get your facts right next time and we almost beat Oneill(I play on Enter) so they werent that good

Anonymous said...

So You "almost won" against O'Neill and Nigeria!

Ok You are almost as good as them!

All I am saying is that there are TEAMS with many great players that can't win and there are great teams with players (some great) that play as a team that have Success.
In this WCP tournament, the team with the best players that support and work together will win instead of a team that are made up of highly skilled, but, SELFISH players.

Enter and Oneil both had the highly rated players on both teams and nigeria exploited them although nigeria had ANdrew and Mike collins so what that means is any team can be beaten only if u play hard and if u want to win this tourn and that rsa tourn was reallly competitive coz of money so braden it was worth playing in it and was very exciting
