Germany and Norway got bonus points because four teams from that pool are in the top 11. Higher degree of difficulty.

Oh nice.. One Spot away from a dressing room.. :(

it was great to see the greeks finish so low in the rankings considering all the trash talking they were doing, get rid of jimmy c,because of him you lost yianni and jonah he is a cancer to your team.

i agree with that comment

pretty sure poland should be fifth. And to your comment that norway finished higher than them because norway had harder games. Poland lost to canada in extratime and canada tied Ireland. Poland tied france in exh. Poland beat Laos in exh.

Let's first all agree that exhibition games are completely meaningless for determining rank in both professional sports and also the WCP Cup. They have no bearing on these tourny standings whatsoever because nobody cares what happens when the games don't count.
Then remember that Canada played poorly against Laos and rolled over and died against France - teams that Norway and Germany lost against. Sorry Poland, seventh place is right because you never actually beat a good team all tournament. Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades right?

Yeah Canada wasn't good. They got 4th because they had the easiest pool to come out of and not a overly strong quarterfinal. Poland is a decent team and i hate to agree with Braden but you never did beat a good team.

ya Poland in my books would be 7th they didnt beat a good team. I mean Nigeria, Portugal, NI,Serbia, and England...Cmon really

Ya Poland was so overrated they would lose if they played any of the top 4 teams in the tourny and probably lose to norway or germany they arent any good only that one kid was good for them brett levi, alex thinks hes an all star but hes crap, whacker should change his name to hacker cause thats all he does, there defence was never really challenged by any decent strikers except for the dooleys, so I would rate Poland 23rd

shut up kier no one cares what you have to say

Anonymous said...

i agree that ex games mean shit all
... when poland played laos .. they didnt have there full team soo yea standings only count in the tourny play

Kier, I'm not sure where you got these rankings based on official rules (were they posted somewhere?), but the only change seems to be the Norway and Poland one. Makes me think you're just a Poland fan trying to convince us something is official when really it isn't.

this is why Poland will NEVER win a WCP cup (which I have won) because they think exhibition games are a big deal, I mean we beat ROI in exhibition game before the tourny should we be ranked 2nd before the tournament? no that would be crazy. JG, LAO LAO LAO 4LIFE

Oh my....appears like some Norway players are still bitter from being spanked by Poland last year. But yeah - they didn't even beat any good teams last year!!! You'll get over it boys, and if any of you were an Arsene Wenger or Jose Mourinho then your critique (aka personal attacks)of players may count for something.
P.S. Close also counts in shit fights due to the splatter so watch where you throw - it could come back on you!

Anonymous 12:18 - I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make. Maybe give it another try so it makes sense.....

I'll try to type slowly so you'll understand. My point is that unless you're a superstar yourself (haven't seen any in Sask), or some great professional coach (haven't seen one of those either), stop throwing shit at other players and teams. You'll get some of it back. I'm sure every team went out to do their best and they all deserve respect, but also must respect their opponents. It's a shame that some seem to excel at the trash talk far more than they excel on the pitch.

And the award for the team with the thinnest skin goes to...... Poland. Congrats

A. I am not on Team Poland.
B. Better the thinnest skin than thickest head.

Playmaker, your right the only difference was the Poland/Norway ranking. Poland is ranked higher than Norway because both teams got knocked out in round 2, which means a tie in standings. There were four teams that were tied for spots 5th-8th (Norway -2, Poland -1, Nigeria -7, Germany -1). Now since Nigeria had the worst result in 2nd round they take 8th. The 2nd worst result goes to Norway which takes 7th. Since Germany and Poland are tied in +/-, the tie break for two teams is (Head to Head, Goals For then Goals Against). Germany scored three goals in round 2 that's why they take 5th place.

oh god, if poland finishes 5th they will think there so good and have won the cup lets put them 8th so they can have more exhibtion games in the summer and all yr long.

hahahaha Braden you are so funny. Go ahead and put Norway 5th. You'll never win another cup so I'm happy you won it in 2007. It's nice to see that teams other than Ireland can win this thing. And yes some guys on our team were on here talking about how good we'll do this year, But remember our average age is like 18 lol. Don't you remember being 16 17 and being super pumped to play soccer and pretend you're playing for that lil golden statue? The fact is 99.99% of the players in this tournament won't ever get a chance to play for something that means anything to anyone outside the soccer community in Regina and I'm glad our guys raped your blog with Polska comments. And ps team Canada player who is talking about our exhibition games all summer long...we didn't start playing till March, while I stumbled upon the facility in DECEMBER and Canada was already practicing....HA
